Personal Locator Beacon with AIS
WamBlee is an Italian company specialized in the design and manufacture of electronic safety/search-and-rescue devices, Personal Locator Beacons, for the nautical and aeronautical fields.
ALL IN ONE solution:
W470 AIS + 121.5MHz
The W470 MOB AIS is an extremely small and light personal safety device. Working on VHF maritime band as MOB AIS and Homing VHF 121.5 MHz, complete with GPS positioning. This Personal locator beacon with AIS can be worn around the neck by its flexible silicone rubber covered antenna or it can be fitted directly into the lifejacket or lifeboat.
It can be manually activated (by pressing the large button) or automatically through the marine sensors. It is equipped with built-in high efficiency flashing led.
The W470 Personal locator beacon with AIS simultaneously emits a number of SAR signals including an AIS message (AIS MOB on channel 1 & 2) and a homing signal at 121.5MHz in compliance with the ETSI 302961. The emission of several signals which are received by the SAR rescue units, will increases the chances for people in distress to be localised.
The W400 emits a radio signal at the international distress frequency of 121.5MHz, which can be received by any alerted SAR unit.
This PLB is extremely easy to use thanks to its ergonomic design and shape of its controls. it can be easily activated even if the user is wearing gloves and/or protective gear.
The W420 sends a radio message on the international maritime AIS channels 1 & 2, which can be received by any AIS compatible equipment on board and by any alerted SAR unit.
A Sophisticated integrated GPS receiver provides the location of the crew member.
This PLB is extremely easy to use and can be easily activated even if the user is wearing gloves and/or protective gear.
The “Man Overboard” System facilitates search and rescue missions of sailors who accidentally fall overboard from a vessel or aircraft. The Personal Locator Beacon (WamBlee PLB) integrated in a lifejacket (LRS001, LRS002 or BIARDO 300N) and a base receptor located on the Commanding Bridge of different types of vessel or aircraft gives an alert in case of existence of an emergency situation, and besides that it gives the precise pinpoint location of crew members in distress.
When a crew member accidentally falls overboard, the PLB is switched on automatically during immersion and emits an audio distress signal in the international SOS frequency of 121.5 MHz.
The W400(EX) device has been designed to be worn by the user. The device can be worn over clothing by passing the silicone rubber antenna lead around the neck and then connecting the end terminal of the antenna in its support. The device can also be installed directly on a self-inflating lifejacket by passing a Velcro strip through the rear fixing stirrup and attaching the antenna along the lifejacket, again behind the user’s neck. For this type of installation please consult the lifejacket manufacturer.
