All Biardo’s facilities have a full and independent EASA-145 approval for “Helicopter &
Transportation Immersion Suits & Life Jackets”. Within the Netherlands we are the only
company who has this certification.
This means that we are approved to declare any maintained component within our Scope of
Work to be ‘airworthiness’ and are specified within the necessary conditions to be met by the
CAA-NL for all employee’s or organizations involved. All of our maintained components are
declared airworthiness by releasing them with an official EASA Form-1.
An EASA Form-1 means according the legislation (Regulation (EC) No 1702/2003): the
primary purpose of the Certificate is to declare the airworthiness of maintenance work
undertaken on products, parts and appliances.
Every maintenance management department of an operator is responsible for having only
certified components installed in the helicopter during operation; including emergency suits &
lifejackets. And our EASA Form-1 is the proof hereof.
Note: The CAA-NL will audit the operators more and more in detail about the availability of
these EASA Form-1 for all components involved. It is also expected that, within a
reasonable time-frame, the required legislation (EU-OPS) will be more tightened
